Environmental Management Science Program (EMSP)
Science Advancing Solutions for Effective Environmental Cleanup
The Environmental Management Science Program (EMSP) was established by Congress in 1996 to develop and fund a targeted long-term basic research program that will result in transformational or breakthrough approaches for solving the Departments environmental problems. The EMSP is a partnership between the DOE Office of Science and the Office of Environmental Management The Program provides competitively awarded funds to research projects that seek to develop the scientific understanding that could reduce remediation risks, costs, or schedules, and help solve currently intractable problems. As such, the EMSP supports research that helps fulfill of the following objectives:
